The Bohlen name started in Riggisberg, Switzerland, ca. 1500 by Mr & Mrs Bölö. They had two sons who later changed the name to Böhlen and it ends in Australia with Bill Bohlen and his family.
In 1967, young Willy migrated to Australia where he was soon sent by his company to Papua New Guinea. There he met Diane Speakman (born in 1942 in Wakefield U.K.)and they married on May 10 in Port Moresby. Wilhelm had by that time changed his name to William Edward (Bill) Bohlen.
In 1971, Bill and Diane returned to Australia to set up house and start a family of their own, two daughters were born

Carol-Ann is married to composer David Pickvance and they live in London, where David is composer working for radio film and television drama. Carol works with DEGW Architects as their Senior Interior Designer.
Sonya is production Manager at the Sydney Opera House and lives in Sydney with her partner, Australian actor Bernard Curry.
